Sansthan, Mathura came into existence on Oct. 25, 2001, by an Act of Govt. of Uttar Pradesh (Act No. 27 of (2001).
Brij area is known since time immemorial for Lord Krishna and its animal wealth, particularly cows.
There are large numbers of Gau-shalas in and around Mathura having hundreds and thousands of cows. The
whole of Brij Kshetra is famous for its milk and milk products (doodh, dahi, makhan, pera etc.). Recognizing
the importance of livestock of this area, the erstwhile U.P. College of Veterinary Science and Animal
Husbandry was established in Mathura by Govt. of U.P. in 1947. It was the first Veterinary College in Asia to
confer the degree in Veterinary Science. Ever since the establishment of this College, it has contributed
significantly not only in terms of number of graduates and post-graduates of high scholastic order, but also
quality research of national and international standards. This College has a glorious past and the distinction of
having its alumni holding high positions in India and abroad as teachers, research workers, policy makers,
consultants and administrators.
In the year 1975, this College was made a constituent College of the newly established C.S. Azad
University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur.
However, keeping in view the requirement of trained and competent manpower in the field of
Veterinary Science, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and other allied disciplines and also to give a fillip to
research on different aspects of cattle production, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh established U.P. Pandit Deen Dayal
Upadhyaya Pashu Chikitsa Vigyan Vishwavidyalaya Evam Go-Anusandhan Sansthan, Mathura, the fourth
Veterinary University in the country and the Veterinary College Mathura became the first constituent College
of the University. The University is located at the Mathura - Agra road and is about 5 km from Mathura
Junction railway station and 4 km from new bus stand. The main campus of the University is spread over a
vast land area of 782.32 acres in Mathura Cantt and about 1400 acres at Madhurikund, about 20 km away from
the main campus.
The objectives and mandate of the University are:
(i) To impart quality education in Veterinary and allied sciences;
(ii) To undertake need-based and basic research; and
(iii) To provide extension services to disseminate the research findings and knowledge to farmers and
livestock owners.
The Veterinary University, in addition to the College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, will
have the following faculties too in the near future to be started in a phased manner:
(a) College of Fisheries
(b) College of Livestock Products Technology
(c) College of Animal Industry and Business Management
Establishment of these Colleges will provide further opportunities to the students of the State of Uttar
Pradesh and other States to seek other professional degrees and also vocational training in different fields of
Veterinary-Science, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Animal Products Technology to improve their career prospects.

It is one of the premier Veterinary Colleges of India. The College caters to the needs of trained

All the Departments are having highly qualified Faculty-Members and good laboratory facilities. Apart
from this the college has a Central Instrumentation Laboratory equipped with state of art instruments,
equipments and research gadgets. The TVCC of the college is a dynamic and vibrant unit equipped with all
necessary state of art diagnostic and treatment instruments and equipments. These facilities are used for
providing “hands on training” to the under-graduate and post-graduate students of veterinary faculty.

embryology, microbiology and cell biology, which are in turn linked to practical disciplines like chemical
engineering, information technology, and robotics.
Owing to the emerging need of highly skilled man power in biotechnology, Mathura Veterinary
University has recently established College of Biotechnology. Veterinary University Mathura is
internationally known and established Government University which has produced outstanding
academicians, scientists, professionals in different areas of Veterinary Sciences.
College of Biotechnology has its own newly constructed modern building equipped with state of the art
facilities for education and research in addition to newly built up hostel facilities both for boys and girls.

University Merit Scholarship:
B.V.Sc. & A.H.: Three students of each B.V.Sc. & A.H. Professional are awarded University merit
scholarship on the basis of their academic merit in their respective classes. Tuition fee of such students is also
waived off.
M.V.Sc.: One scholarship of Rs. 1000/- P.M. is awarded to one student of each Post-Graduate
Department on the basis of their merit.
Stipend of the Social Welfare Department of Govt. of U.P.:
All the eligible students receive a monthly stipend as per rules notified by Govt. of UP.
Award of Medals:
The Meritorious Students receive University Gold, Silver Bronze medals, Vice Chancellor medals, Pt.
Jankinath, madan memorial best clinician medals and ISVPT medals at the time of Convocation

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Candidates are advised to read the instructions given in the PROSPECTUS very carefully. The
application form must be completed in all respects. Incomplete/unsigned/mutilated
application form without photograph/with unclear photograph will be out-rightly rejected
and the fee deposited will not be refunded.
2. Original documents or their Photostat copies should not be enclosed along with application form.
Original certificates will have to be produced at the time of counseling.
3. Concealing of any information will be treated as misconduct and action will be taken as per the Rules of
the University. Admission of such candidate(s) would be cancelled.
4. All admissions shall be made provisionally and the University reserves the right to cancel any
admission granted to a candidate without assigning any reason thereof.
5. Application form should be filled-up very neatly and clearly by the candidate himself/herself in their
own handwriting. Over writing/cutting on the application form shall not be allowed.
6. Students should affix his/her recent Colored Passport Size photograph (3.5 x 4.5 cm) with date in
full front pose without any cap and/or sunglasses in the application form at the specified place.
7. The candidate should get the application form attested from the Principal of the last college attended or
a Gazetted Officer.
8. The applicant should fully ensure before dispatching the application whether he/she fulfills the
eligibility requirement for admission/appearing in the Entrance Examination as the fees once paid shall
not be refunded in the event of rejection.
9. Applicant is advised to clearly mention his/her complete mailing address neatly in the columns
provided in the application form, acknowledgement card and envelops.


10. Last date of submitting completed Application Form PVT is 14.04.2015 and for PGET (Vet.) is
09.06.2015 by 5.00 P.M. Applications received after last date as mentioned will not be entertained
and no claim what-so-ever can be made for such applications.
11. Candidates are advised, in their own interest, to submit their application form under registered
cover/Speed Post or deliver personally in the office of Controller of Examinations.
12. The University will not be responsible for any postal/any unforeseen delay/loss in transit in respect of
submission of duly filled application forms, non-receipt of admit card etc.
13. The decision of the University in all matters related to Entrance Examination/Admission shall be final.
14. Using any unfair means during Entrance Examination will be treated as per the University Rules. The
University shall cancel result of such candidates.
15. Candidate seeking reservation should clearly mention their category/sub-category in column provided
in the application form and answer sheets.
16. In the PVT examination, the candidate will use only BALL PEN (BLACK/BLUE) for filling up circles
on answer sheet (OMR).
17. After the examination is over, the candidate will be responsible to hand over his/her answer sheet and
used question booklet to the Invigilator; otherwise his/her candidature shall be rejected.
18. The rough work should be done only on the question paper. For this purpose, neither he/she will be
given any separate paper nor will he/she use any of his /her own paper. Only admission card will be
allowed in the examination hall.
19. Scrutiny/re-evaluation of answer sheet of the entrance examination is not allowed.
20. Admit card for entrance test will be sent by registered /speed post. In case, admit card is not received
before examination, duplicate admission card can be obtained from the Examination Centre one
day earlier from the Centre Superintendent (Internal) by depositing two Color photographs similar
to ones pasted on application form and Rs.200/- .
21. A candidate who has been punished at any time in his/her earlier academic career for having taken part
in act of indiscipline or use of unfair means during examination will be refused admission. In case,
he/she secures admission by concealing facts or by any mistake of the office, the admission will be
cancelled as and when the facts are detected/brought to the notice of University.
22. The records of Entrance Examination shall be preserved only for a period of one year by the
University after declaration of the result and no communication in this regard shall be
entertained thereafter.
23. Application forms of those candidates who do not fulfill the eligibility criteria will be rejected.
24. The centre indicated for the Entrance Examination by a candidate is only his/her option. Actual
centre shall be allotted by the University and it shall be final. No correspondence in this regards
shall be entertained.
25. The University reserves the right to cancel/change test centers/test dates.
26. Admission of the candidate to the Entrance Examination is provisional subject to their being found
otherwise eligible for admission to the course concerned.
27. A candidate is required to submit only one application form. If a candidate submitted more than one
application form, his/her candidature is liable to be cancelled.
28. Application form must be sent in original and duly completed in all respect. Photostat/Xerox
copies/Fax copies of application forms will be rejected.
29. Mobile/Cell phones/Pager or any other communication devices are not allowed inside the premises
where examination is being conducted.
30. A counseling fee of Rs 200 will be charged at the time of counseling.

B. Entrance examination for B.V.Sc. & A.H. Programme (P.V.T.):
1. Eligibility / Qualifications-

No candidate shall be admitted to B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree Course unless:
a) He/she has completed the age of 17 years on or before 31st December, 2015. Maximum age limit will
be 25 years (age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST/OBC candidates).
b) He/ she has passed:
I. The qualifying examination with 50% marks in aggregate for UR and OBC category and 40% for
SC/ST of the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as core course or an examination
equivalent to intermediate Science examination of an Indian University/Board recognized by the
Association of Indian Universities taking Physics, Chemistry and Biology including a practical test
in each of these subjects and English.
OR
II. Higher Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination equivalent to 10+2.
Higher Secondary Examination (after a period of 12 years of study), the last two years of study with
Physics, Chemistry, Biology and any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the
core course for English as prescribed by the National Council for Education, Research and Training
after the introduction of 10+2+3 (years) education structure as recommended by the National
Committee on Education.
NOTE: Where the Course is not as prescribed for 10+2 education structure of the National Committee,
the candidates are required to have undergone a period of one year pre-professional training before
seeking admission to the Veterinary College.
OR
III. The Intermediate/Pre-degree examination in science from a recognized University/Board with
Physics, Chemistry and Biology, which shall include a Practical test in these subjects and English.
OR
IV. The pre-professional/pre-medical examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology, after passing
either the higher secondary school examination or the pre-university or an equivalent examination.
The pre-professional examination shall include a practical test in these subjects and English.
OR
V. Any other examination which in scope and standard is found to be equivalent to the intermediate
science examination of Indian University/Board recognized by the Association of Indian
Universities, taking Physics, Chemistry and Biology including a practical test in each of these
subjects and English.


c) He/she has appeared in the Pre Veterinary Test (PVT) conducted by the University and declared
eligible based on the test results. The NRI candidates are not required to appear in PVT, however,
they must have secured minimum 50% marks in Intermediate or equivalent examination. The
NRI sponsored candidates will have to appear in PVT Examination and secure 50% marks.
d) He/she shall produce his/her mark sheet/certificate of Intermediate Examination at the time of
counseling.
e) He/she must be domicile of Uttar Pradesh. (Not in case of NRI/NRI sponsored candidate)
f) Admission of students to B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree course shall be made only on the basis of his/her merit
in the competitive entrance examination. No other merit/ weightage shall be considered for admission
to B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree course.
g) The students educated abroad seeking admission into veterinary colleges in India, must have passed the
subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English upto the 12th Standard level with 50% marks in the
individual subjects.
h) Sponsored candidates shall have to qualify the admission procedures as laid down for the students
under UR category.
NOTE:1. Candidates appearing in Intermediate Examination of 2015 are also eligible to appear in Pre
Veterinary Test (PVT), however, their admission will also be governed by the above cited rules.
2. The candidate shall bring this prospectus along with other original certificate at the time
of counseling.

3. Age Limit:
Minimum age limit is 17 years as on 31-12-2018 for B.V.Sc. & A. H. programme. Maximum age limit
will be 25 years (upper age limit relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST/OBC candidates). Candidates born after 31-
12-1998 or before 31-12-1990 (for OBC/SC/ST/ 31-12-85) are not eligible.

4. PVT 2018:

The minimum qualifying marks for admission to B.V.Sc. & A.H. programme shall be
50 percent for Un-Reserved and OBC categories and 40 percent marks for SC/ST category candidates
in both PVT Entrance Examinations (Preliminary and Main separately). This is applicable to all subcategories except VCI quota.



 5. Admit Card:

Admit card for Preliminary Examination will be sent to all the eligible applicants by registered/speed
post by 1st week of May. In case, Admit card is not received before examination, duplicate Admit card can be
obtained from the Examination center one day earlier from the Center Superintendent (Internal) by depositing
two color photographs similar to ones pasted on the application form (attested on the back side) and Rs.200/-only.
Admit card for Main Examination will be sent to only those candidates who qualify in the Preliminary Examination.

6. Examination Centers for PVT:

BAREILLY, KANPUR, LUCKNOW, MATHURA and ALLAHABAD.

7. VCI Seats:
Of the sanctioned 60 seats, 15% (9) seats are reserved for the nominated students sent by Veterinary
Council of India.

8. Payment Seats:
(a) Payment details for College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, DUVASU, Mathura
25% of the remaining 51 seats (13 seats) will be filled on payment basis. Candidates seeking
admission in the category of payment seats shall have to appear in the PVT Entrance
Examination and qualify the same as per University rules. Such candidates would be selected
from the merit list of the Entrance Examination. Reservation policy of the Govt. of U.P. will be
applicable for payment seats as well. Payment seats lying vacant, if any, from the reservation
quota will be filled from the unreserved category candidates. Selected candidates shall have to
pay Rs. 2.00 lacs in addition to the other fees applicable at the time of admission in 1st Professional
of B.V.Sc. & A.H. only. For subsequent professionals (II to V) including repeat years in all
professionals (from Ist to Vth) such students shall have to pay Rs.75,000/- per professional year
including repeat years in addition to the other fees/dues applicable.
b) Fees once deposited shall not be returned in any case on any ground.

9. Admission of NRls/NRI-sponsored candidates:
Over and above the sanctioned 60 seats, 10% of the sanctioned seats i.e. 6 seats are available in this
category. The candidates in addition to the normal fee applicable shall have to pay US $
6000.00 (or equivalent in Rupees) at the time of admission in 1st Professional and US $ 3000.00
(or equivalent in Rupees) at the beginning of subsequent Professionals including Professionals
repeated. Unfilled seats of NRl quota will be transferred to payment seats. Eligibility in this
category will be subject to the following -
(i) The sponsoring NRl or NRI candidate must be resident abroad for not less than 5 years.
(ii) 50% marks in PVT is compulsory for NRI sponsored candidate.

10. Admission of Girls under payment category:
Over and above the sanctioned 60 seats, 15% i.e. 9 seats are available in this category. The seats will be filled by payment category as given in clause-8.

11. Admission of University employee’s wards category:
Over and above the sanctioned 60 seats 5% i.e. 3 seats are available in this category. The seats
will be filled in the payment category as given in clause-8. A concession of 50% for class III and IV
employees of this University is allowed in the payment fee i.e. Rs.1,00,000.00 (Rs. One Lac)
at the time of admission and Rs.37,500.00 for subsequent professional years in addition to normal fees. Only
spouse/children of regular employees of U.P. Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Pashu-Chikitsa Vigya
Vishwavidyalaya evam Go-Anusandhan Sansthan, Mathura (DUVASU) are eligible for this category.




12. Reservations:
Vertical (Main category)
i. Scheduled Castes : 21% (SC)
ii. Scheduled Tribes : 2% (ST)
iii. Other Backward Classes : 27% (OBC)
iv. General : 50% (UR)
Reservation to the following sub-categories is available as given below:
(a) Children of U.P Freedom Fighters - One seat
(b) Children of Defense Persons (Armed Forces) - One Seat
(c) Physically Handicapped* - One Seat

The candidates claiming for any of the above reservation benefits shall have to submit the
concerned/related certificate issued only by the competent authority at the time of counseling.



*Note:- In Physically handicapped sub category, a candidate shall not be allowed admission to
B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree course including those admitted under 15% reserved quota of Veterinary
Council of India if he/she suffers disability in physical fitness as listed below :
(a) Disability of total body including disability of chest/spine more than 50%
(b) Disability of lower limb of more than 50%
(c) Disability of Upper limb
(d) Visually handicapped candidates and those with hearing disability.
(e) Candidates with progressive disease like sympathies etc.
(f) Disability which otherwise would interfere in the performance of the duties of a veterinarian.
The disability will be certified by a medical board constituted by Registrar of the University in consultation
with Chief Medical Officer of Mathura District, comprising of at least three specialists out of which two
should be of specialty concerned and the candidate has to present him/herself before the medical board. The
fee of the medical board will have to be borne by the candidate.

13. Syllabus:

The syllabus for the P.V.T. will be as that of Intermediate of U.P. Board/Equivalent.


 14. Question Paper (Question booklet): 

1) The Question Booklets contain 200 questions serially numbered from 1 to 200. The questions shall be
framed from all the subjects with equal weight age being given to each subject i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Zoology and Botany.
2) The OMR Answer sheet/Response sheet is inserted in each Booklet and each OMR sheet has 200 blank
spaces serially numbered from 1-200 for filling the answers of respective questions.
NO ADDITIONAL OMR SHEET SHALL BE PROVIDED. Candidates are advised to handle it
carefully.
3) The Booklet is stapled, bound and sealed on three open sides with paper seals.
4) Serial number of question Booklet & OMR Sheet is same and to be checked by each candidate before
start of answering on OMR sheet.

5) Question Booklets are in four sets i.e. A, B, C & D.
6) In case of any doubt, discrepancy, misprinting, missing pages etc., the candidate must bring it to the
notice of the Invigilators within the first 5 minutes and get question booklet replaced with the booklet of
the same set (A, B, C or D) before writing the answer.
7) The rough work should be done only on the question booklets. Extra blank page is provided in question
booklets for this purpose. Neither he/she will be given any separate paper nor will he/she use any of
his/her own paper.
8) There shall be four marks for each correct answer and for negative marking one mark will be
deducted for each incorrect answer. More than one answer indicated/marked against a question
will be deemed as incorrect answer and will be negatively marked.
9) Use only BLACK/BLUE BALL POINT PEN for writing and filling the circle(s) on the OMR answer
sheet.
10) Please read the instructions given in the question booklet in full before attempting the questions.
