INTRODUCTION
U.P. Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Pashu Chikitsa Vigyan Vishwavidyalaya Evam Go-Anusandhan
Sansthan, Mathura came into existence on Oct. 25, 2001 by an Act of Govt. of Uttar Pradesh (Act No. 27 of
2001).
Brij area is known since time immemorial for Lord Krishna and animal wealth, particularly cows. There
are large numbers of Gau-shalas in and around Mathura having hundreds and thousands of cows. The whole of
Brij Kshetra is famous for its milk and milk products (doodh, dahi, makhan, pera etc.). Recognizing the
importance of livestock of this area, the erstwhile U.P. College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry
was established in Mathura by Govt. of U.P. in 1947. It was the first Veterinary College in Asia to confer the
degree in Veterinary Science. Ever since the establishment of this College, it has contributed significantly not
only in terms of number of graduates and post-graduates of high scholastic order, but also quality research of
national and international standards. This College has a glorious past and the distinction of having its alumni
holding high positions in India and abroad as teachers, research workers, policy makers, consultants and
administrators.
In the year 1975, this College was made a constituent College of C.S. Azad University of Agriculture and
Technology, Kanpur.
However, keeping in view the requirement of trained and competent manpower in the field of Veterinary
Science, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and other allied disciplines and also to give a fillip to research in
different aspects of cattle production, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh established U.P. Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya
Pashu Chikitsa Vigyan Vishwavidyalaya Evam Go-Anusandhan Sansthan, Mathura, the fourth Veterinary
University in the country and Veterinary College, Mathura became the first constituent College of the
University. The University is located on the Mathura - Agra road and is about 5 km from Mathura Junction
railway station and 4 km from new bus stand. The main campus of the University is spread over a vast land
area of 782.32 acres in Mathura Cantonment and about 1400 acres at Madhurikund, about 20 km away from
the main campus.
The objectives and mandate of the University are:
(i) To impart quality education in Veterinary and allied sciences;
(ii) To undertake need-based and basic research; and
(iii) To provide extension services to disseminate the research findings and knowledge to farmers
and livestock owners.
The University, in addition to the College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry and College of
Biotechnology will have the following faculties too in near future:
(a) College of Fisheries
(b) College of Livestock Products Technology
(c) College of Animal Industry and Business Management
DIPLOMA COURSES
1. Diploma in Veterinary Pharmacy (VDP) - 60 Seats
2. Diploma in Livestock Extension (VPL) - 60 Seats
Two seats are reserved for the university wards in each course.


Diploma for Veterinary Pharmacy (VDP)
This course is to cater the demand of trained Veterinary Pharmacists in the state to strengthen
the veterinary hospitals, dispensaries and animal health & production related services at village level.
Diploma for Livestock Extension (VPL)
Keeping view, the diploma programme is being initiated to produce qualified and well trained
human resources to man the positions of LEOs in state animal husbandry department and
successfully implement the animal husbandry related activities and programme of central and state
government.
FUTURE PROSPECTS AND JOB OPPORTUNITIES FOR DIPLOMA HOLDERS
Diploma holders will be eligible for getting absorbed as Veterinary Pharmacists and
Livestock Extension Officers in the department of Animal Husbandry. Moreover, these personnels
would also be competent enough for self employment.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Candidates are advised to read the instructions given in the PROSPECTUS very carefully. The
application form must be completed in all respects. Incomplete/unsigned/mutilated
application form without photograph/with unclear photograph will be out-rightly rejected
and the fee deposited will not be refunded.
2. Original documents or their Photostat copies should not be enclosed along with
application form. Original certificates will have to be produced at the time of counseling.
3. Concealing of any information will be treated as misconduct and action will be taken as per the
rules of the University. Admission of such candidate(s) would be cancelled.
4. All admissions shall be made provisionally and University reserves right to cancel any
admission granted to a candidate without assigning any reason thereof.
5. Application form should be filled-up very neatly and clearly by the candidate himself/herself in
their own handwriting. Overwriting/cutting on application form shall not be allowed.
6. Students should affix his/her recent Colored Passport Size photograph (3.5 x 4.5 cm) in full
front pose without any cap and/or sunglasses in application form at specified places.
7. The candidate should get application form attested from Principal of last college /school
attended or a competent authority.
8. The applicant should fully ensure before dispatching application whether he/she fulfills
eligibility requirement for admission/appearing in the Entrance Examination as fees once paid
shall not be refunded in the event of rejection of form.
9. Applicant is advised to clearly mention his/her complete mailing address neatly in columns
provided in application form, acknowledgement card and envelops.
10. Last date of submitting completed application form is 23-06-2015 by 5.00 P.M. Applications
received after last date and time as mentioned above will not be entertained and no claim whatso-
ever can be made for such applications.
11. The University will not be responsible for any postal/any unforeseen delay/loss in transit in
respect of submission of duly filled application forms, non-receipt of admit card etc.
12. The decision of the university administration in all matters related to entrance
examination/admission shall be final.
13. Using any unfair means during entrance examination will lead to disqualification of his/her
candidature.
14. Candidate seeking reservation should clearly mention their category/sub-category in column
provided in application form and answer sheets.
15. In examination, candidate will use only BLACK/BLUE BALL PEN for filling up circles on
answer sheet (OMR).
16. After examination is over, candidate will be responsible to hand over his/her answer sheet to the
Invigilator; otherwise his/her candidature shall be rejected.
17. The rough work should be done only on question paper. For this purpose, neither he/she will be
given any separate paper nor will he/she use any of his/her own paper. Only admission card will
be allowed in examination hall.
18. Scrutiny/re-evaluation of answer sheet of the entrance examination is not allowed.
19. Admit card for entrance test will be sent by registered post. In case, admit card is not received
before examination, duplicate admit card can be had from the centre one day earlier from the
Centre Superintendent (Internal) by depositing two Colored photographs and Rs.100/- only.
20. A candidate who has been punished at any time in his/her earlier academic career for having
taken part in act of indiscipline or use of unfair means during examination will be refused
admission. In case, he/she secures admission by concealing facts or by any mistake of office,
the admission will be cancelled as and when the facts are detected / brought to the notice of
University.
21. The records of Entrance Examination shall be preserved only for a period of one year by
University after declaration of the result and no communication in this regard shall be
entertained thereafter.
22. Application forms of those candidates who do not fulfill the eligibility criteria will be rejected.
23. The University reserves the right to cancel/change test centers/test dates.
24. A candidate is required to submit only one application form. If a candidate submitted more than
one application form, his/her candidature is liable to be cancelled.
25. Application form must be sent in original and duly completed in all respect. Photostat/Xerox
copies/Fax copies of application forms will be rejected.
26. Mobile/Cell phones/Pager or any other communication devices are not allowed inside the
premises where examination is being conducted.
27. A counseling fee of Rs 100 will be charged at the time of counseling.
28. No person shall be entitled to claim any compensation or concession, if the admission
granted is subsequently cancelled.
